Queer Stagiaires support ENAR’s open letter to the European Commission calling for the inclusion of ethnic and religious minorities in its new “Diversity and Inclusion” strategy

Queer Stagiaires supports the call by the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) for the European Commission to include ethnic and religious minorities as target groups in its new communication “A better workplace for all: from equal opportunities towards diversity and inclusion” .

We praise the European Commission’s approach to diversity and inclusion and the specific actions on the inclusion of women, staff with disabilities, LGBTI staff and older staff. Nonetheless, it is important to remember that the system causing discrimination of the above categories of individuals is the same system doing so towards ethnic and religious minorities.

We cannot expect to achieve positive and inclusive change where nobody is left behind unless we focus on changing the system, acknowledging the need to cooperate and  showing solidarity with ALL those discriminated by it.
